Abstract

Emotion is a basic component of behavior. Emotions are expressed as love, sadness, happiness, hate, fear and etc. Emotions can be expressed in many ways that as like facial expression and gesture that can see in a movie. The research aims to describe the words and types are used to express love and happiness in life. This research also describes emotional expression in love and happiness as in a movie The Stolen Princess by Malamuz, in terms of words used to convey love and happiness expression, the context to influence this research love and happiness expressions. The writer are used qualitative method that refers verbal description and not-numerical to collect the data. In the analysis, the writer focuses on analyzing the expression of love and happiness that use theory of Parrot (2001) Ekman (2003), and Murray (2013). Furthermore, the writer found different words and types of emotional expression in literal, non literal and context. Figurative language is used to express love and happiness as non-literal expression such as metaphor and simile. In addition, the result of expressions gives knowledge about the writer in love expression found two types of love such as Affections and Longing besides that happiness expression is used various words such as intellectual happiness, vocational happiness, and social happiness.
