Abstract

The Minangkabau people have a fairly prominent type of folk game, namely horse racing, which is a type of game that uses a horse as a tool. The form of the game can use one or several horses controlled by a rider, the horses will race (race) in a place called the "arena". Horse racing in Minangkabau is a tradition that existed before the colonial government entered, this tradition is an activity carried out by the Minangkabau elite for celebration or entertainment.
