Abstract

Initially, Southeast Asian countries were agricultural countries, therefore ASEAN was formed as a regional organizational forum whose aim was to support the economies of its member countries. The purpose of this goal was implemented with the formation of the ASEAN Free Trade Area or AFTA in 1992. With the development of AFTA, other countries were interested in becoming AFTA dialogue partners, one of which was China, which wanted to participate as a dialogue partner in the ASEAN free trade area and was named ASEAN China Free. Trade Area or ACFTA based on Presidential Decree No. 48 of 2004. However, the implementation of the Indonesia-China free trade area disrupted the Indonesian economy due to a surge in imports and Indonesia's unpreparedness to face free trade. Problem Formulation: 1) What are the free trade arrangements for the ASEAN China Free Trade Area according to the 1992 Asean Free Trade Area agreement? 2) How is the implementation of free trade between China and Indonesia according to the ASEAN China Free Trade Area? Research Method: using normative juridical research, data sources using secondary data, data collection techniques using document studies and data analysis using qualitative analysis. Research Results: 1) The ASEAN-China free trade arrangements and the arrangements for the ASEAN China Free Trade Area Scheme are in accordance with the arrangements for the free trade area of the Asian region, namely the Scheme for ASEAN Free Trade Area. 2) The implementation of the ASEAN China Free Trade Area in Indonesia is not in accordance with The existing regulations are due to the fact that there are still many products from China entering the national market which are outside the CEPT scheme and ACFTA scheme
