Abstract

This study analyzes Erotomania in The Eye of The Stalker movie. This study aims to describe the symptoms and impact of Erotomania portrayed in the movie. This study used a psychological approach to find out the symptoms and impact of Erotomania. The writer applied qualitative descriptive approaches to analyze the data. The writer found a total of 21 data in this study, 15 data on erotomania symptoms, and 6 data on the impacts of Erotomania. From the 4 symptoms of Erotomania, the writer found only three types of symptoms. For these three types of Erotomania symptoms, there are 15 data found, 8 data on stalking, 5 harassing behaviors, and 2 data on lying. It can be concluded that the most Primes symptom he does is stalking. Meanwhile, the impact of Erotomania, there are 3 impact classifications with 6 data such as 2 impact data on Primes, 2 impact data on Beth as victims, and 2 impact data on people around (Beth’s mother and Liz). The writer also found that Erotomania is related to psychoanalytic theory because the sufferer acts to satisfy his desires. So it can be concluded that Primes, is the sufferer of Erotomania. He unknowingly commits various disturbing behaviors that can be categorized from mild to dangerous towards Beth to make Beth want to be with him.
