Abstract

This study aims to design the catechins and tannins industry from gambier leaves with an eco-tech approach in Fifty City Regency. Gambier leaves are one of the abundant natural resources in the area, but its utilization is still limited. The eco-tech approach is used to optimize the production process by taking into account environmental, social, and economic aspects. The research methods used include field surveys to identify potential and challenges in the utilization of gambier leaves, literature studies to evaluate the ecological production process of catechins and tannins, and economic analysis to estimate the investment feasibility of this industry. The results showed that gambier leaves have great potential as raw materials for the catechins and tannins industry. By implementing environmentally friendly technologies, such as the use of renewable energy and efficient waste treatment, the industry can provide economic benefits to local communities without harming the surrounding environment. In conclusion, the design of the catechins and tannins industry from gambier leaves with an eco-tech approach in Fifty City Regency can be a sustainable solution in utilizing the potential of nature optimally while preserving the environment and empowering local communities.
