Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is a disease that causes public health emergencies, so the state is obliged to make efforts to prevent disease transmission in a fast, precise, effective and coordinated manner in accordance with applicable legal regulations. In disaster management efforts, open and transparancy information on the disease of Covid-19 patients is needed which is useful as material for study and analysis in making decisions in accordance with Article 2 Paragraph (1) of Law Number 14 of 2014 concerning Openness of Public Information and Article 4 Number 3 of Law Number 8 of Year 2009 concerning Consumer Protection. Covid-19 patient disease information is a confidential right of privacy and is protected by statutory regulations including: Article 8 of Law Number 36 of 2009 concerning Health, Article 32 of Law Number 44 of 2009 concerning Hospitals. Problem Formulation: 1) How is the implementation of legal protection for the privacy rights of information on the disease of Covid-19 patients at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang ?, 2) What are the obstacles that affect the implementation of legal protection for the privacy rights of information on the disease of Covid-19 patients at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang ?. This research is a sociological legal approach, primary and secondary data sources. Data collection by document study, interview and observation. The data were analyzed qualitatively. The conclusions of the research results: 1) The implementation of legal protection for the privacy rights of information on the disease of COVID-19 patients at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang refers to the general consent policy. 2) Public health information on covid-19 patients can be accessed by the public in an open and strict manner to the public.
