Abstract
The expiry date, month and year is the deadline for food quality guaranteed as long as it is stored according to the instructions (best before). or the grace period for the "best" (quality) and "safe" (health) use or utilization of a food or beverage product. This means that the product has "the most excellent quality" only up to that time limit. based on the background of these problems, the problems that will be studied in this study are: 1) What is the form of the responsibility of business actors for batiah food without an expiry date? 2) What is the legal protection for consumers against internal food that does not include an expiration date? This type of research is sociological juridical. Primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques were obtained through interviews and document studies. The results of the study are 1) The form of responsibility is carried out by Batiah Lis by providing compensation in the form of goods or money according to the agreement 2) The consumer protection provided is by referring to the Consumer Protection Act by providing compensation by fulfilling consumer rights.
