Abstract
ABSTRACT Crime misuse of weapons stipulated in Article 2 (1) of Emergency Law No. 12, 1951 on Changing "Bijzondere Ordonnantietijdelijke Strafbepalingen" (Stbl. 1948 No. 17) and the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Formerly No. 8, 1948 on Firearms and Explosives (Ln. 1951 No. 78). Misuse of weapons sometimes cause death or serious injury to people. The causes of criminal acts included in the criminology. Crime appears motivated by the previous conditions. Problems covered are: 1) What are the kriminogen factors unauthorized use of weapons in the city of Padang? 2) How is the response to the abuse of used weapons in the city of Padang ?. This study using socio legal approach, the data used are primary data and secondary data. Data was collected by interviews and documentary study, then analyzed qualitatively. Based on the research showed that the cause of the criminal act of abuse of weapons by the public is individual and social factors. a) Individual factors include habit factors, intellectual factors, psychological factors and factor understanding of religion. b) Social factors include economic factors, environmental factors, less educational factors and domestic factors and abuse prevention efforts sharp weapons can be done by way of penal and non-penal.
