Abstract

ABSTRACT This study analyzes the influence of psychological empowerment on teachers' creative performance in private vocational high schools (SMK) in Pasaman Barat Regency, with the mediating role of thriving and work engagement, as well as the moderating role of the psychological climate of competition. Using a quantitative approach with a survey method, data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings indicate that psychological empowerment has a positive and significant impact on teachers' creative performance, with thriving and work engagement acting as mediators in this relationship. Additionally, the psychological climate of competition moderates the relationship between thriving and creative performance, although its effect varies depending on the intensity and perception of competition in the work environment. The implications of this study highlight the importance of psychological empowerment strategies in enhancing teachers' motivation and creativity, supported by a work environment that fosters thriving and work engagement while managing competition in a healthy manner. This research contributes theoretically to the development of human resource management literature and provides practical recommendations for HR management in the vocational education sector.
