Abstract
The factor in developing Hydroxyaptite-based Biocomposite comes from the high level of bone graft needs which causes research and surgeons to continue to develop biomaterials as an alternative choice in restoring damaged bone tissue. One reason for using hydroxyapatite as a substitute for bone is because its chemical composition is similar to the mineral bone phase of humans. The element added to the formation of Hydroxyapatite is Borosilicate (Borak and silica). Mixing this material is arranged with certain compositions using a tool that is Ball Milling. For the formation of test specimens, printing was carried out with different compressive forces of 5kN, 15kN, and 25kN, then sintered at 1000C. To find out the hardness value of hydroxyapatite and borosilicate biocomposite, the hardness test was obtained to get the best value for each stress, namely in the 5 kN compressive force obtained in the composition of 75%: 25% with a hardness value of 96.7 SHN. composition of 75%: 25% with a hardness of 98.1 SHN and in a compressive force of 25 kN found in the composition of 75%: 25% with a hardness of 98.5 SHN. This gives the conclusion that the more borosilicate composition increases the value of material hardness increases according to the compressive force and sintering temperature given by not changing the chemical structure of hydroxyapatite.
