Abstract

Embung is a building construction with a storage capacity of 500 m3-100,000 m3 as an utilizing water resources that serves to store and supply water for the needs of raw water, agriculture and plantations. Embung is a very important component that is built to accommodate the excess rainfall according to community needs. Batang Kampung Mara River of Bukit Sundi Subdistrict, Solok Regency is the location of Embung building with an area of 4 km2 sub-watershed. In terms of embung planning, the discussion included hydrological analysis, embung body technical planning, calculation of stability, storage capacity, availability of raw water. The making of Batang Kampung Mara Embung is expected to get the raw water needs of residents around Kinari Village. The peak of embung elevation at +1024.61m and a base elevation of +1017.61m, for an olak pool using a sink type. The body of the embung from a pair of rocks with upstream slope 1: 1. The body length of the reservoir is 13.1m. The cumulative volume of embung of 4208 m3 can meet the needs of the community of 1001 families (head of family). It was concluded that the embung body planning was declared safe for the forces that occurred. Keywords: Embung, Raw Water , Elevation.
