Abstract

South Korean society still adheres to the patriarchal system. In the family father is in charge of everything. Men play the role in society. This research aims to analyze casses of the image on woman as seen in the novel and the woman resistance against the image in the novel Kim Ji Young, Born 1982. The novel shows how the image on women sees by men, and the society in Korean patriarchal society. In explaining the study, the writer uses feminism theory to find the realion and conection among in the image on woman and the resistance woman do against the image. The analysis using close reading technique to gain complete understanding of data. From analysis, the writer find some image on woman as seen in the novel in several kinds such as woman is sexual adventure of man, woman is unreliable, woman being underestimated, and son preference. There are also some resistance do by women toward the image in several kinds. Keywords: Feminism, Image, Resistance, Woman
