Abstract
This research will discussed about how Kevin Hart as a Stand Up Comedian delivered his joke by flouting maxim, and this research will studied and analyzes Kevin hart utterances while he do a perfomance, especially when he flouted the maxim and use floating strategies in flouting maxim. This thesis will use Joan Cutting theory about the term of flouting maxim and strategies. The method of this research is qualitative method that provides data related to data analysis. Documentation technique will be done through downloading the video, analysis, and writing method. The data analysis will use Miles and Hubberman (i) Reduction, (ii) Data presentation. (iii) Conclusion. The Result shows that there are 24 flouting of maxim in Kevin hart 12 video performance and 8 classified strategies according to the flouted maxim. The research also reveals that Kevin Hart use Flouting Maxim to delevered his joke so the audience can understand the joke and laugh. Keyword : Joke , floating maxim, Stand up Comedy
