Abstract
Literature conveys experiences or events of life which then expressed in a special way and special language. One of the obstacles in teaching literature is how to create teaching material which can easily capture children’s interest. As an alternative, transformation can be an answer to the problem. One form of transformation is comic strip. Comic strip is considered an effective way in teaching literature since it is capable in attracting children’s interest in learning. Once children’s interest is gained then it will be easier for teacher to transfer knowledge. This method is applied in teaching Minangkabau idiomatic expression. Minangkabau idiomatic expression contains advice on life. Minangkabau idiomatic expression can be comprehended by children without great effort when it has been transformed to comic strip. Therefore local wisdom contain in it will be acknowledged. Keywords: Literature, Transformation, Comic Strip, Idiomatic Expres
